Former senator lauds Wilcox's dedication to the community as he campaigns to succeed her

Former Sen. Pamela Althoff recently endorsed Republican Senate candidate Craig Wilcox and said the retired Air Force colonel places “service to our community before himself.”

Althoff resigned from the District 32 seat on Sept. 30 to seek the District 4 position on the McHenry County Board, according to a story in the Northwest Herald. Wilcox is running against Democrat Mary Mahady to replace Althoff.

Althoff commented on her 16 years as a state senator in a press release and expressed confidence in Wilcox’s ability to do the job.

“I believe that Craig Wilcox is the right person for this job, as he has shown me his willingness to understand the issues (and to) discuss solutions with all affected parties,” Althoff said. She added that Wilcox “understands the issues facing the residents of Lake and McHenry counties."

Wilcox welcomed Althoff’s support and thanked the former senator for her “resourcefulness and bi-partisanship” in the Senate.
